At Arusha Secondary School, a group of talented girls is redefining what it means to sing with purpose. Known for their strong harmonies and creative energy, this team turned their voices into a message of empowerment composing a song to market their school and inspire others to join.

Their lyrics spoke of dreams, growth, and opportunity inviting students from across Tanzania to choose a school that believes in potential and builds confidence.

“If you dream, dream big, come to Arusha Secondary,
Where voices rise, and futures shine brightly.
Here we learn, we grow, we believe
This is where tomorrow begins.”

During the Back2Impact Challenge 2025, the group performed this powerful song live, catching the attention of both judges and partners. Inspired by the mentorship of Sauti.Market, they learned that music is not only entertainment it can be entrepreneurship, education, and communication.

Their latest song highlights CRDB’s ImBeju Account, creatively teaching fellow students how saving and managing money can turn small beginnings into big futures.

“We realized music can sell, teach, and transform,” one of the members shared. “We don’t just sing anymore. We sing to make change.”

These young artists represent a new generation of voices creative, conscious, and full of purpose, proving that when music meets meaning, the world listens.

Q1: Meherleen, how did it feel stepping on your first stage during the Back2Impact Challenge 2025?

Honestly, it felt like a dream coming true. I had been writing speeches and poems in my notebooks for years, but that was the first time I ever shared my words with an audience. I was nervous at first, but when I started speaking, I felt a connection like my message was finally being heard. It wasn’t just my moment; it was the beginning of something bigger.


Q2: Your winning speech was about financial literacy. Why did you choose that topic?

I realized many young people, including myself, don’t learn how to save or manage money early enough. I wanted to speak about it because financial habits start when we’re still students. If we understand money now, we can make smarter choices later.
My goal was to inspire both students and parents to start those conversations at home.


Q3: What message do you have for other young people who have dreams like yours?

Don’t hide your voice write, speak, perform, and share your ideas. Every talent deserves a chance. The world will listen when you believe in what you carry. And to every young person out there, platforms like Back2Impact Challenge and Sauti.Market are proof that your voice can open doors not just for you, but for others too.

I didn’t just win a title. I found my purpose. My voice became my path.
